Back on the Wagon :)

Story from today...

First some background...

For the greater part of the past year I have been losing weight on the Slim 4 Life plan. I had lost 70 pounds by November but then we had another miscarriage and I just gave up. Holidays were around the corner etc. and quite frankly I was tired of fighting. So, I have basically eaten what I want for the last 3 months and have gained approximately 25 pounds back.

In case you think people aren't watching...check this out...

The Slim 4 Life plan requires that you eat a large amount of protein and the real stuff - not lunch meat :) I am not a big fan of cooking meat so for most of last year I went to Chic Fil A for lunch and ordered 2 chargrilled chicken filets and a large unsweet tea. Ever since November - I continued to go to Chic-Fil-A but I would order a spicy cool wrap and a brownie instead.

So on to the story...

I decide today that I am going to just order my old usual - I bring lettuce from home to make a salad. I pull up to the window and the manager was passing out food (to be honest, he isn't my favorite food passer outer as he called me a cell phone abuser once because I am usually on my phone going through the drive through). So, I wasn't happy to see him and decided I should start praying for him. Good thing...

The second I pulled up to the window I smiled sweetly and said "hi, how are you today?" He gave me one look and said "now THIS is YOUR ORDER. Good to see you back on the wagon."

Really - you didn't just say that, did you?? Good thing I was already praying for him :) Otherwise, not sure how I would have handled that. Instead, I just smiled and said yes and thanked him for the accountability...And started laughing as I drove off.

My pride is ALL kinds of torn up right now. One...it is slightly humiliating that I go to Chic-Fil-A that often anyway. Two...not only do they know my "usual" now, they know my "usual" from 3 months ago. Three...I just got called out for falling off the wagon. Four...I was just inspired to share this with all of you :)

So...the Lord set me up today - with accountability at Chic-Fil-A (smile). Even though I still can't believe the nerve of that guy...I am grateful to the Lord for this...I have been drowning in my sin again. In His kindness and mercy he used an apparently "not total stranger" to lead me to repentance...I hope. Please pray that God would keep me "back on the wagon."

Romans 2:4 (English Standard Version)

4Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
